Our Relationship

Posted on December 10, 2020

Austin PBS's Winter Fund Drive is about to wrap up. Your support is vital to our operations. The relationship between our donors and this station is at the core of what we do. Here are a few ways your gift today goes back to Central Texas:

  • Flexibility makes life easier. We continue to innovate how the public can access Austin PBS. On-air we offer four distinct channels. Our main Austin PBS channel and our PBS KIDS channel also both have a 24 hour livestream. The free PBS video app offers thousands of programs through all major viewing platforms.

  • Support is a community concern. For caregivers and parents, Austin PBS has an array of bilingual resources, including weekly lesson plan ideas and family STEM workshops still going strong over Zoom. Daytime broadcasts have also been redesigned during the pandemic to better serve students lacking reliable internet access. For jobseekers our American Graduate initiative showcases Central Texans and their employment journeys, with practical advice and resources highlighted.

  • Joy is what it's all about. Dance, poetry, song. Condors, elephants, wolves. Underwater exploration, space flight. International documentaries. Local storytelling. How to grow a garden. How to cook a meal. How to share. How to be a British detective. Discovery is at every turn on Austin PBS, and that excitement is available to all of Central Texas.

Come along with us as a member of Austin PBS at austinpbs.org/donate! There are over 100 program-related thank you gifts to to choose from when you contribute during our Winter Fund Drive. And if you are able to give, consider a Sustaining Membership. It allows you to donate in smaller portions for a more budget friendly approach, and it gives Austin PBS a monthly stream of funds, which helps us plan ahead.

Thank you for being a public media champion. This community-supported space depends on viewers like you!
