Q Night at the Movies presents Awakenings. Starring Robert DeNiro and Robin Williams, this 1990 film is based on the true story of a group of patients who, following a devastating epedemic, remain catatonic for decades until Dr. Sayer (Williams) wakes them up. Before the film, hear from talented film producer Felicia D. Henderson. After the feature, learn more about leading man Robin Williams and then stick around for a musical perfomance from The Kate, named after legendary actress Katharine Hepburn. It starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday on Q.

Feature Film Awakenings at 8 p.m. The story of a doctor's extraordinary work in the sixties with a group of catatonic patients he finds languishing in a Bronx hospital. Speculating that their rigidity may be akin to an extreme form of Parkinsonism, he seeks permission from his skeptical superiors to treat them with L-dopa, a drug that was used to treat Parkinson's disease at the time.
