Decibel Audience Engagement Intern Spring 2024

Job Title: Audience Engagement Intern

As an audience engagement intern for Decibel, you’ll help support Decibel’s mission as a community journalism project by helping craft our outreach methods. Interns get real hands-on experience and are viewed as an integral part of our team. You’ll help manage our website, plan community events and get the opportunity to work alongside a group of talented journalists and storytellers. You will be trained & mentored on the following job duties-

Job Duties

  • Publish new Decibel content on the website, YouTube and Media Manager
  • Write and edit web posts about our community engagement initiatives
  • Write and edit teasers for social media
  • Update and maintain Decibel’s community partner database
  • Help plan community events Create new social media friendly content from existing packages
  • Perform other daily duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student, enrolled in courses during the duration of the internship
  • Student must be available to commit to a minimum of 14 weeks for this internship
  • Internship will be in person
  • 15-20 hour a week commitment
  • Proficiency in Excel, overall familiarity working with Microsoft Office

Physical Demands

The working conditions are primarily a general office setting. Some light travels to the office.
