Events Intern - Summer 2023

Job Overview:

Under the supervision of the Events Manager, the Events Intern will play a key role in supporting our events. The Events Intern will assist in the planning, production, and execution of high-quality internal and external events. These events may include but are not limited to, Austin City Limits Hall of Fame, Member Events and Program-related Community Events, Austin City Limits tapings and ACL Bloody Mary Morning during SXSW. This is an outstanding opportunity for an individual interested in learning more about nonprofit organizations and event planning. The internship offers exciting hands-on experience and the opportunity to gain new skills.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Creating cohesive event themes through decor, food, drink and activities
  • On-site management of event pieces including but not limited to set-up, decor, audio visual, and vendor management
  • Researching vendors and event materials
  • Performing day-to-day event tasks such as logging RSVP attendance, stuffing envelopes, creating name tags
  • Assist with maintaining inventory of event department supplies, including equipment and materials to ensure efficiency in the department.
  • Collect past event information including data and pictures and produce additional event reports as needed/requested.

Skills & Requirements:

Interest in events planning Excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, problem solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Energetic team player with the ability to function independently, as well as in a collaborative environment Skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and in Google Drive Ability to Prioritize Projects Student must be available to commit to a minimum of 8 weeks for this internship Internship will be in person/hybrid 15-30 hour a week commitment Must be available to work some nights and weekends.
