Job Overview

The news team at Austin PBS is looking for an eager, creative, self-motivated intern to join our team. As an intern for the news department, you’ll help support the creation of our weekly news program. Interns get real hands-on experience and are viewed as an integral part of our team. You’ll assist with studio and field productions, social media content creation, and get the opportunity to work alongside a group of talented journalists and storytellers. You will be trained & mentored on the following job duties.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Write scripts for weekly news show
  • Assist with studio production and field productions
  • Pitch story ideas in weekly meetings
  • Create new social media friendly content from existing packages
  • Perform other daily duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Student must be available to commit to a minimum of 14 weeks for this internship
  • Internship will be hybrid
  • 15-20 hour a week commitment
  • Pay rate is $20/ hour
  • Undergraduate student, enrolled in courses during the duration of the internship
