Mindy Ellmer
Mindy Ellmer is widely regarded as one of the most reputable and strategic governmental affairs consultants working in the Texas Capitol today.
Mindy provides strategic counsel on legislative and regulatory policy, political engagement, and grassroots deployment. With over twenty-five years of practical experience in Texas Government, she is a leading voice on business and infrastructure issues. Mindy has been instrumental in shaping the major issues facing business and industry including landmark legislation relating to oil and gas development, the electricity market, economic development, and tort issues.
Mindy provides effective policy and political counsel to Fortune 100 Companies, national associations, and local governmental entities. She deploys a hands-on approach to lobbying, diving deep into issues to best serve her clients. She also enjoys helping those who don’t have a strong voice at the Capitol by providing pro-bono counsel and advocacy for the Homeless Community and the Arts, where her true passion lies. For over a decade, Capitol Inside has ranked Mindy in the top 20 “Hired Gun Lobbyists” in Texas.
Born and raised in Austin, Mindy has always been drawn to politics and has spent her entire career in and around the Capitol. She began building her experience interning in the Governor’s Office, followed with full time positions in both the Texas House and Senate. Mindy launched her lobby career at Bracewell, LLP where she spent almost a decade before opening her own firm. She met and married her husband, Charlie Geren in the Texas Capitol where he serves House District 99 in the Texas House of Representatives.
Mindy currently serves on the boards of The Texas Cultural Trust, where she is Secretary on the executive committee; ZACH Theatre, as Past President; and is Immediate Past President of the Headliners Club of Austin.
