Internships
About Our Internship Program
The Austin PBS Internship Program is a transformative learning experience designed to equip future professionals with the skills to leverage media for positive change. Ideal for students pursuing careers in public media and nonprofit administration, this program offers hands-on experience across multiple fields.
As an intern, you’ll take on key projects and engage in mission-critical work, gaining a broad understanding of Austin PBS operations while collaborating across departments. Interns may assist with producing local productions, creating marketing materials, reporting stories, and more. Whether supporting our community journalism initiative, Decibel, contributing to award-winning programs like Overheard with Evan Smith and Central Texas Gardener, or helping plan community and fundraising events, interns play a vital role in bringing Austin PBS’s mission to life.
Austin PBS, KLRU-TV is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, age, national origin or disability.
