Where is the Austin PBS Austin Media Center located?

The Austin Media Center is located on Austin Community College Highland campus. You can find us on the corner of Clayton Lane and Wilhelmina Delco Drive. Look for the Austin PBS name on our new building, #3000. Please note Wilhelmina Delco Road closure.

Parking Information

Street parking is available around our building and covered parking is available in the Austin Community College Highland South Parking Garage (entrance on Clayton Lane).

MetroRail: Take the 550 Red Line to Highland station

Bus: Take Routes 1, 7, 324, 337, 350 or 801 to the ACC Highland Campus.

Is this an indoor or outdoor event?

The majority of the event is indoors, including Storytime, Character Meet & Greets, Studio 6A programming and our maker stations and activities. The Music Stage, Austin Kiddie Limits Lawn and Trailer Park Eatery are outdoors, but will include shaded areas for all.

What happens if the event is canceled due to weather conditions?

The event is mostly inside, so will be held in case of bad weather with some adjustment to schedules and availability of outdoor components.

Will there be food or drinks available on-site?

Food will be available for purchase in our Trailer Park Eatery. Our Google Fiber Trailer Park Eatery partners include Mighty Cone, Amy's Ice Cream, Simpson's BBQ and Suga's Cupcakes.

Water stations can be found throughout the event.

Do you need to pre-register for any of the events?

All Ascension Seton Character Meet & Greet times and H-E-B Storytime readings are first come for availability.

Is there a cost for the main event or any of the events within?

All events all day are free!

Is the building accessible for those with physical limitations? Where are accessible entrances/exits?

The Austin Media Center is a building for all. We are a split level building. When entering from our ADA parking lot, entrance on Highland Campus Drive, we will have volunteers that can guide you into the interior of the venue.

Guests may then move to the 2nd floor via our elevators, which can be found in our main Gallery, or travel around the building outside along Clayton Lane. Once at the front, you can experience our outdoor activities.

Volunteers and staff will be stationed around the event to assist all and answer any questions on-site.

Community Day Lost & Found

Any lost or found items can be found at the Welcome Desk at the main entry.

Are strollers allowed?

Yes, strollers are allowed.

Is the event pet friendly?

Pets are welcome at our Music Stage and lawn areas, but not inside the Austin Media Center.

What is the Austin Media Center?

Austin PBS’s new headquarters, the Austin Media Center, is located on the Austin Community College Highland Campus in Austin, TX. Destined to become a unique and energizing space, the Austin Media Center serves as a creative hub and base for Central Texans to gather, learn, share and create.

In the space that formerly hosted the Dillard’s department store at Highland Mall, Austin PBS occupies 45,000 square feet on the ground floor of the 185,000 square feet building. With over 100 miles of cabling to support broadcast functionality, the Austin Media Center is the largest 12G facility in the United States. If I have questions, who can I contact?
