From Cold Fronts to Cocoa

The holidays are here and Weather Hunters wants to help you celebrate! Start with a brand new episode on December 8th, where the Hunter family spends Christmas in Africa exploring new places and learning all about new weather patterns. See what traditions their family has for the holiday season and share some of your own, too! Plus, play Weather Explorer, a brand new game launching on December 12th!
While it may not be cold enough to build a snowman, that doesn’t mean you can’t paint one. Grab a few materials from around the house and learn how to make snow paint! It’s fun, it’s easy, and you can create your very own winter wonderland from the comfort of the indoors. Throw on a hat and scarf and pretend the flurries are flowing!
All this weather talk can be a little nerve-wracking. From unseasonably warm temperatures to extreme cold conditions we hear about in the news, it can be scary and hard to navigate how to talk about these kinds of natural events. Luckily, Al Roker has pointers for caregivers to help guide these conversations with young ones. His goal with Weather Hunters is to make weather approachable, understandable, and exciting for kids.
We hope your holiday season is filled with warmth, happiness, and time spent together as a family. Maybe you’ll even find you have a future meteorologist in your very own home!
