For the first time, Austin PBS is bringing Made in Austin live to viewers at home.

Join us Thursday, August 13th, at 7pm CT for a special one-hour celebration of the programs, people, and partnerships that make Austin PBS possible. Broadcast live from Studio A, Made in Austin is an opportunity to celebrate what our community has accomplished and to see what your support makes possible every day.

Whether you’ve watched Austin PBS for decades or recently discovered one of our programs, Made in Austin is your invitation to experience the creativity and community spirit behind our work.

This is the first time the event will be broadcast and streamed live, making it easier than ever for viewers across Central Texas, and beyond, to be part of the celebration.

A Celebration Made for Austin

Everything we do at Austin PBS begins with our community. That’s why Made in Austin brings together the people whose creativity, dedication and support power our work across Central Texas.

During the live event, you’ll hear from talent behind Austin PBS Original productions and meet some of the journalists, filmmakers, educators and community partners who bring our mission to life. You’ll also get an exclusive look at what’s ahead, with previews of upcoming productions and new seasons of Austin PBS favorites.

What You’ll See During the Live Event

The evening will spotlight Austin PBS programs and initiatives spanning local journalism, education, gardening, music, history and independent filmmaking.

Viewers can look forward to:

  • Conversations with the teams behind Austin InSight, Central Texas Gardener, Overheard with Evan Smith, and Decibel.
  • Stories about the impact of PBS KIDS, Play to Learn and PBS LearningMedia on Central Texas students, families, and educators.
  • Exclusive footage from an upcoming Austin PBS documentary celebrating the legacy of Carrascolendas, the groundbreaking bilingual children’s series that debuted in 1970.

These previews and performances are only part of the evening. Throughout the broadcast, you’ll meet members and community partners whose stories demonstrate how Austin PBS educates, connects and inspires audiences across Central Texas.
