The Story of Us

Tune in Friday, January 8 at 7:30 p.m. on Austin PBS for The Story of Us

People across the country, including many folks living right here in Central Texas, share short stories about their lives with answers to prompts such as "The tradition I carry on is..." and "I took a risk when..."

Respondents include neighbors in Austin, Buda, Cedar Park, Leander, Liberty Hill and other surrounding communities.

Here's a snapshot of what local contributors had to say:

"I was raised to believe even though in the eyes of God we are all the same, people are going to treat my different inevitably because of the color of my skin." - Stacy M.

"I took a risk when I decided to move to this country at almost 50 years of age. I took a risk at 60 years old to enroll in school for the betterment of my life."- Ana L.

"My Saturday night looks like skateboarding. Meet up with a crew of skaters, we shred 'til we're exhausted and it feels good." - Matt T.
