This is what we can do together in 10 days.

PBS programming has been an integral part of the American experience for over half a century. Need a safe educational space for you child? We're it. Want news that takes the time to thoroughly investigate and strives to report in an unbiased manner? Turn to us. Craving an escape for an hour or two? You know Masterpiece has your back.

This tradition of public television has endured because of member support. Our ever-growing community depends on Austin PBS for journalism, inspiration and entertainment. Today is the start of Austin PBS's Summer Fund Drive, and once again, we look to Central Texans like you.

A lot goes on behind the scenes to create our content and outreach — your donation is what funds all the moving parts of Austin PBS. From our education team conducting longitudinal studies on the best ways to ensure school readiness to our programmers and producers collaborating with Austin filmmakers to bring diverse, local stories to the air, we continuously work to improve our services.

Austin PBS has shortened our Summer Drive to just 10 days. This means fewer on-air interruptions, but it also means we need our viewers to contribute with alacrity! You have asked us to keep our fundraising periods as short as possible. As long as you and all our neighbors keep pitching in, we'll keep cutting down our fund drive times. Pinky promise. Donate at austinpbs.org and request your thank you gift today!

Have some free time this weekend? Be sure to tune in for some relaxing downtime with Austin PBS. Tomorrow night at 7 p.m. is the much-anticipated premiere of The Avett Brothers at Red Rocks. Sunday you can snack along with Rick Steves: Tasty Europe, track down clues with Endeavour and find your twang with Ken Burns' Country Music.

Everything that comes from Austin PBS directly reflects what our members support year after year! Thank you for keeping us on the air and out in the community.
