Friday, November 10
7:30 p.m. To Be of Service
The effect of war is profound for all the players engaged in the conflict. Veterans returning home may experience a disconnect from the world they once inhabited and struggle to function. Some veterans come home with a psychological injury called Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). In TO BE OF SERVICE, viewers meet several veterans with PTSD and the service dogs helping them return to the world. Through these deeply bonded relationships, viewers experience the duality of violence and redemption through the lens of addressing recovery from the trauma of warfare.
9 p.m. Salute to Service: A Veterans Day Celebration
A Veterans Day musical celebration hosted by Jon Stewart and featuring the U.S. Army Field Band with special guests Mickey Guyton, Amanda Shires and Mandy Gonzalez.
10 p.m. Metal Detector
Georg is an Austrian retiree whose mother witnessed the crash of an Allied B-17 near their home during World War II. When he takes up metal detecting to find the wreckage, a growing fascination leads him on a heartfelt mission that will bring a group of international strangers together for a surprising emotional adventure.
