Archive Intern Spring 2025
Job Overview:
The ideal candidate will have experience with archives work and be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in either library science or history. Our paid archive internship provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience with current trends in the Library, Archives, and Museum (LAM) field. The intern will work directly with the Director of Archives to continue preserving the legacy of Austin PBS, including materials directly related to Austin City Limits.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Assist the archives team with digitization of media including photographs, audio files, and video files
- Arrange unprocessed collections and create accompanying finding aids
- Assist staff with archive-related questions and execute research requests
- Staff the archive for special projects and/or special events
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in undergraduate preferably studying library science, history, or a related field
- Tech savvy and comfortable with computers
- Familiarity with different file formats
- Must have an interest in Public Media and have a desire to preserve history
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Student must be available to commit to a minimum of 14 weeks for this internship
- Internship will be in person
- 15-20 hour a week commitment
