Celebrate Cultures with Molly of Denali
Posted on November 6, 2025
November is National American Indian Heritage Month! Join Molly, an Alaska Native, her dog Suki, and friends Tooey and Trini on brand-new adventures with the Molly of Denali podcast. Check out three seasons of storytelling from Molly, her friends, and her family as she helps kids ages 4-8 develop knowledge and skills for interacting with informational texts. PBS Kids has video content, interactive games, and real-world activities to help young ones work on important skills with this fun crew of friends.
If you’re looking for a simple and fun craft to do with kids, take a note from Molly and make beaded necklaces! Molly’s friends taught her how to make jewelry with beads, leather, and a bear claw that represents their culture. You and your young one can do the same and create jewelry together that reflects their interests or background. Gather items from around your house and the outdoors to get ideas and get crafting.
Speaking of celebrating cultures, Rochelle Adams- a mother, educator, artist, and advisor for Molly of Denali- gives great tips for getting your kids familiar with and excited about their heritage. Every family has unique stories, so start sharing yours! Plus, it’s fun to see how values are shared across cultural differences.
