Education Intern Fall 2024
Job Overview
As an Education Intern, you’ll be engaged in a variety of activities that help the Austin PBS Education team build awareness of and engagement with PBS educational resources for youth ages 2-18 years of age. Target audiences include educators, parents/caregivers, and children themselves. You must possess an appreciation for the power of PBS digital educational media to promote anywhere, anytime learning, and an ability to communicate that appreciation to the public. The job requires comfort with current technologies as well as with public engagement, including instruction for children and adults.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain electronic devices (primarily tablets) for educational use
- Maintain working links on Austin PBS Preschool Resource Guides and other curriculum documents
- Analyze pre/post assessment data from Austin PBS workshops
- Prepare metadata for ACC/Austin PBS education videos
- Assist Austin PBS Education team at internal and external events (may include nights & weekends)
- Maintain inventory of Austin PBS Education supplies
- Promote educational resources and our weekly Educator Newsletter to current and prospective teachers
- Reach out to community agencies and pediatric medical facilities to build awareness of PBS KIDS media they and their clients can access
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate student, enrolled in courses during the duration of the internship
- Student must be available to commit to a minimum of 14 weeks for this internship
- Internship will be in person
- 15-20 hour a week commitment, preferably daily
- Proficiency in Google Docs
- Spanish bilingual preferred
Physical Demands
The working conditions are primarily a general office setting, with some self-provided travel to off-site events and engagements
